I'm sure once or twice in life, you've made someone else laugh. Be it cracking a joke, being a stand-up comedian yourselves, or just act something foolish out (both intentionally or not).
But are you aware of every such moment? Sometimes it can be planned, sometimes, it depends on that spur of moment. Whichever, It's always great when you're creating a positive environment for people around you!
And so today, me and my colleagues went to a fitness center enquire about the membership rate. Happens that we need to get our body assessment done in the center before they can quote us (for unknown reasons). And so this colleague of mine, attentively went for the tour and assessment. But our lunch hour is running out! It's half more hour, and we need 15 minutes to get back to our office! Anyhow, the consultant asked her to step on the the treadmill to measure her heart-rate. It was a faulty machine after a few tries (5 minutes gone), so she was asked to try another 1. She came to us and say that "I think I'll just skip and not do the assessment, I'll tell the consultant". Great I thought!.
So the consultant asked her to step onto the other machine. While he was busy playing with the buttons, my colleague told him, in a soft tone, that she can't do the assessment as we're in a rush. However the consultant doesn't seem to hear her even on 2nd try. And she just stepped on the treadmill, calculated her HR, and we went for the whole tour, minus the detailed body assessment. Well, thing is, no-one aside from me realize that funny-moment.
It was during tea-break in the office that I re-enacted that scene, with rough body language, and speaking tone that everyone cracked! Heck, the once silence office was filled with laughter by the immediately! Owh I wonder what the manager thought happened!
But I totally build a positive environment then, not lasting, but enough for that moment to release everyone's stress from work...It's that little thought that counts...
AWESOME!
AWESOME!
