Let's talk about Nasi Lemak 2.0 first.
It's a great locally-produced movie that portrays the mixed culture, attitude, political jokes, and manner of Malaysians. In fact, if you're a Malaysian who follow the political jokes of our country, then you're sure to understand all the car-breakdowns, power-surges, statements that's related to it. Well, to your own definition of course, as if it's directly portraying what it really means, I think the whole crew, and especially Namewee himself (Director), will have a great lawsuit to go against soon, and have the movie being banned for sensitive materials.
Now, the Director, nicknamed Namewee. If unknown, he's the "great" controversial singer who re-writen the national anthem of Malaysia - Negarakuku, and got famous for it, and of course, for the lawsuit against him by the government too! Not to mention the songs that he continually written...
Though that's that, doesn't matter whether Namewee did what he did for fame, money, or that he is really a patriotic rakyat, it's his spirit of never giving up that should be complimented for. Kopi after kopi with the uniforms people; controversial lyrics after controversial lyrics; youtubes after youtubes; and visits after visits, he finally get to live his dream of creating the 1st ever 1Malaysia movie (or so he called it, which I totally agreed after watching it). Going against the government and selling them an idea that's against their "tradition" is not an easy job, he sustained through it, and got something out of it. He's really 黄大侠. I wish him the best of everything, especially in his quest to unite Malaysians. Maybe he's really the chosen one...who knows.
But I do know one thing for now,
Nasi Lemak 2.0 is an AWESOME movie and you should watch it and
Namewee is an AWESOME man
I'm gonna get his album soon to support his quest...
And as a lesson, no matter what you and I do, if you believe that it's the right thing to do, then do it no matter what it takes. Life's too short for all the BUTS, get a life!
