Everyone loves to earn $$$ without putting in any effort or minimal (if any), who don't? It's a desire, but rarely do all of us have that kind of opportunity.
Today, I did!
I was invited to a focus group discussion on a topic around Midvalley Shopping Mall, by a market research company. I was told that I will be given an incentive for that 2 hour discussion upon completion, and normally an average Joe won't earn that much within 2 hours, of, I would say, purely casual idea-sharing only.
I went to the mentioned venue a little late due to traffic. Got myself registered, and the waiting game begins...when one by one, participants were being called into the room (pre-sumably randomly picked by the client ont he spot). After half hour, there was only 2 person left at the waiting room. And you may have guessed, I was one of them.
The P-I-C came and told me, "Nicholas, I'm sorry but our client had randomly picked the participants that were going to be in the discussion, and you will be excluded from the study (now comes the good part) , but here you go (handing me an envelope containing the incentives), you will be getting the same amount of incentive as the participants in there (pointing towards the discussion room), thanks for attending"
